Meet The Jury

Debbie Doe is an electronic musician and immersive sound artist with a background in electroacoustics from Concordia University. Their artistic practice is deeply influenced by spiritual exploration, cinematic and theatrical aesthetics, and the transformative power of shamanic sonic journeys. Specializing in atmospheric compositions, Debbie uses unconventional instruments, sampling techniques, and a blend of electronic hardware, analog gear, field recordings, and voice to craft mesmerizing soundscapes that transport listeners into fictional worlds.

Currently, Debbie is developing a spatial audio project that explores sound as a form of medicine, with a focus on immersive, therapeutic listening experiences. They are also collaborating with Montreal-based artists to create a physical space and virtual platform for spatial audio creations and electronic music.

​

Debbie is interested in contributing to the Visionary Art Grant as a jury member because they believe in the power of sound to catalyze personal and collective transformation. Their work in immersive sound aligns with the grant’s mission to support visionary artists whose creations serve the greater good, offering a unique approach to the intersection of art, healing, and spiritual exploration.

Alex Coma is a visionary artist and creative coach who merges oil painting and immersive installations to explore spirituality, transformation, and the subconscious mind. His work blends detailed realism with sacred symbolism, creating introspective spaces through chiaroscuro techniques and rare pigments like lapis lazuli. His art invites viewers to experience deeper connections to unseen forces and universal truths.

Currently, Alex is developing a new series inspired by the Egyptian goddess Nut, exploring cycles of death, rebirth, and the balancing of feminine and masculine energies. His creative process is rooted in meditative inquiry and personal experiences, leading to immersive installations that transform gallery spaces into ceremonial realms. He also has his own Vlog where he showcases the power of Art to invite profound inner transformations.

As a jury member for the Visionary Art Grant, Alex is passionate about supporting artists whose work connects to spiritual growth and human transformation. He sees this grant as an opportunity to help elevate visionary creators whose art serves the greater good and sparks change on a collective level.

Nika is an interdisciplinary artist and social entrepreneur, combining visual arts, writing, and teaching to harmonize energies and create transformative experiences. Her practice draws from alchemy, Kabbalah, and modern psychology, while focusing on the pursuit of self-care, emancipation, and spiritual wisdom through her art and teachings.

Nika is currently focused on her project, Aurigin, a holistic center for creators. Inspired by her own transformative journey, Aurigin supports artists through residencies, workshops, and online services, fostering sovereignty and resilience within a regenerative community.

As a jury member, Nika is committed to supporting visionary art that brings balance and healing to individuals and communities. Her work and perspective on art as a tool for transformation make her a perfect fit to help guide the Visionary Art Grant, encouraging the growth of art that uplifts humanity.

Charlie Jimenez is an interdisciplinary artist and filmmaker with a background in visual arts and theatre. Based in London and Dorchester, Charlie's work explores the intersection of body, mythology, and identity. Drawing from phenomenology and post-humanism, he creates surreal films and performances that engage audiences in intimate dialogues on gender, identity, and spirituality. His work invites contemplation, dissolving boundaries between reality and myth.

Currently, Charlie is curating Bodysongs, a sculpture and short film exhibition in London that explores the corporeal perspective of emotions through prosthetics, dreamscapes, and surrealism. He has worked with notable clients such as the Barbican, Sotheby’s, and Sadler’s Wells.

Charlie is interested in contributing to the Visionary Art Grant as a jury member because he believes in art’s transformative power to provoke new reflections on the complexities of the human experience. His focus on identity and spirituality aligns with the grant’s mission to support artists who create work that invites profound introspection and exploration.

Ken Nakajima is an interdisciplinary artist working across theatre, fashion, and contemporary performance. His practice blends dance, theatre, and visual arts into a powerful language that distills the essence of human existence. Drawing from both Western and Eastern mythology, he crafts archetypal narratives that explore iconoclasm, image, and philosophy—deconstructing the symbols that shape our collective consciousness.

Ken is currently set to direct his debut film, I Don’t Know How to Die, So I May Stay Forever, an evocative meditation on mortality that unfolds within the liminal space of a soundstage. Conceived as an allegory for different forms of death—both literal and symbolic—the film continues his exploration of impermanence, mythmaking, and the tension between presence and absence.

As a member of the Jury, Ken eagerly anticipates engaging with the diverse and innovative works presented, and contributing to the selection of artists who will continue to inspire and transform the artistic landscape. He is particularly interested in works that not only demonstrate exceptional skill but also evoke a profound emotional response, inviting

audiences to engage deeply and reconsider their perceptions.
